Welcome! I’m Dr. Xiaolong Li and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety. My favorite thing about being a psychologist is the amazing, unexpected, heartfelt, hilarious, mournful, and transformational stories I get to hear from my clients. They all speak to the quiet strength each and every one of us possesses.
I work especially well with people navigating identity, anxiety, and lack of purpose—often with layers shaped by family dynamics, perfectionism, or being raised between cultures. Whether you’re processing past trauma, burnout, or transitions you did or didn’t ask for, my role is to help you get unstuck and feel grounded in yourself again.
My style is warm, relational, thoughtful, and (I hope) humor filled. I’ll ask good questions, empathize deeply, and gently challenge patterns that no longer serve you. I bring in the valuable perspectives and techniques of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy but our work is led by your needs and values. While I learn about your unique story and make that story felt heard, our therapy will keep an active pace and focus on change.
I’ve lived all over the country from Alabama to upstate New York, but I like to say I was raised with Midwestern roots, growing up in St. Louis, Missouri. I’ve now made my forever home in Northern California after attending the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium for graduate school. I am a 1.75 generation Chinese American immigrant raising biracial children with my wife who is also a clinical psychologist. In my spare time I like to cook, travel, play games, and watch sports.
Whether you’re new to therapy or giving it a another shot, I’m honored you’re here. I’d love to connect.
